Built to last

Good work speaks for itself.

Building on an island means doing more with less. Rock, shoreline, ferry schedules and tight sites all make it harder. We handle both the work underground and the materials that go into your walls.

Brian Torma has been doing this work for over 30 years.

Brian has more than three decades in the construction trade. He is a United States Air Force veteran, a devoted husband and father, and a farmer. He runs every project the way he was trained to, with discipline, accountability and respect for the people he works for.

How We Work

Built for island life.

01

We know the islands

Rocky ground, shoreline setbacks, ferry logistics and tight access are part of every job here. We plan for them from the first walk-through.

02

Light on the land

Directional drilling and careful excavation keep trees, gardens and driveways intact wherever possible.

03

Materials that matter

As farmers and builders, we look at the whole life of a material, from field to finished wall.

04

Straight answers

You get clear scopes, honest timelines and direct contact with the owner.

05

Homes & hospitality

We work with homeowners on a single build and with inns and lodges planning bigger projects.

06

Veteran-owned

Brian brings the standards he learned in the U.S. Air Force to every job: show up prepared and finish what you start.

Natural Building

Materials chosen for the earth and the people living inside.

Torma Construction started working with hempcrete in 2018, and the natural building side has grown from there. We work with Orcas Island natural interior designer Whitney Page to help homeowners and hospitality businesses choose materials that are healthy, durable and beautiful.
